Bijou de Dordogne may still be relatively new, but it already has a charming history. Six years ago, Maaike (mom) opened Bijou de Dordogne as a B&B. Two years later, Ilona (daughter) took over, continuing its warm and welcoming tradition. Now, we’ve decided it’s time to offer Bijou de Dordogne as a rentable holiday villa.
Why the change? Maaike wanted to spend more time in the Netherlands, while Ilona found it challenging to balance running the B&B with her other work. Niels (Ilona’s partner) is also busy managing his own business.
Renting out Bijou de Dordogne as a villa became the perfect solution. We hope you’ll enjoy staying here just as much as we’ve enjoyed creating this special place!
What's Good Should Stay Good
Bijou de Dordogne has received many great reviews as a B&B, and we hope the villa will receive the same. We are confident it will, as we remain dedicated to keep everything in top condition and continuously making improvements, both inside and outside.
This winter, for example, we are creating a large BBQ corner complete with a lounge bench and cozy fire pit.
Maaike, with her extensive knowledge of plants and her green thumb, ensures that the gardens are always vibrant and flourishing.
The only thing we never need to improve is the breathtaking view over the Dordogne Valley—it’s simply stunning, no matter the season!
